On a bright sunny day in Northern California, I chose to pick up my stuff and go on a road trip with my younger cousin to Southern California where the weather was overcast. WOMP WOMP! We got there and met up with some family who was visiting from Virginia. We decided to go to this spot called Real Food Daily in Santa Monica, a vegan spot, because the out-of-towners took a recommendation from a friend.
I have got to say… Not my favorite spot, but I did take one good thing out of eating there. I ordered a Cucumber-Kale Lemonade to go with my food and I LOVED it! We ordered almost all sorts of different items off the menu and this was the only thing that anyone enjoyed!
Below is my version of the Cucumber-Kale Lemonade!
Green Power Lemonade
Servings: 12 servings
Total Time: 10 minutes
For Main Juice:
1 1/4 cup Cucumber (small diced)
3 handfuls Kale
6 Lemons (juiced)
To Add Later:
1 1/2 cup Water
2 tsp. Brown Sugar (or Honey)
Blend together the kale and cucumber (or juice them if you have a juicer) and then strain into a pitcher. Take the Lemons and juice them into the same pitcher. Stir them together.
Pour about a cup and a half into a tall glass and mix in one and a half cup of water and the sugar. Stir together, add an ice cube or two and enjoy!
